And see what How to Win the Publishing Game Seminar is about: In Part I of this workshop, we will discuss the beginning process of writing, finding time to write and what has worked for other authors. We will touch on other ways to get a book written, via tape transcription, ghostwriting, as well as expensive ways to get things started. We will cover the editing process, the different types of editing and its importance.  The authors will share their publishing experience as both a self-published and with mainstream house and information gleaned from both experiences.  By the end of the workshop participants should be able to identify which route is best and what steps to take to get the manuscript done.

In Part II of this workshop, we will focus mainly on self-publishing and marketing and promotions.  Authors will share advice on the steps to start a publishing house, about the publishing industry and the difference between POD, Mainstream and independent, choosing the right printer, distributor and what pitfalls to avoid, preparing the book to go to press and marketing and promoting the book.  A question and answer session will follow. A specialty gift bag with handout will be provided for all participants which will give a step-by-step instruction and the contacts needed to start and finish the process.
